Tommie Russell

A Celebration of Life service to be held for Tommie Russell, 88, of Andalusia. Tommie went to be with the Lord on June 21, 2019.

The celebration will be at the Sanford Town Hall on September 29 at 2:00 PM., with Rev. Bill Butler officiating.

Tommie fought a long battle with cancer. He was born on September 29, 1930, to Jobbie and Mattie Russell in Coffee County. He spent his first years in Alabama.

At the age of 17 he joined the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Richardson and Fort Wainwright, AK. Tommie received an honorable discharge.

He worked the Alyeska Pipeline in Prudhoe Bay and Valdez, AK, building the Alyeska Pipeline.

Tommie is retired Army, AK Teamsters # 959. He is survived by two children, Greg Russell and Theresa Russell Page of Anchorage, AK.

He has four grandchildren, Jennifer Nicole (Alabama), Allen Page (Kermit) and Travis, (Anchorage, AK.)

Tommie has one great great granddaughter, Aeysha Page (Anchorage, AK).

He has three brothers, Fred, Lex, Lester and Russell, all of Andalusia, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Tommie loved telling stories about his life. He will be missed.
