Thomas “Tom” Eugene Moore

Thomas “Tom” Eugene Moore of Opp passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at Keahey Chapel beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Rev. Elbert Smith and Rev. Derwood Cleland will officiate, music by Francine Jones and pianist Beverly Oglesby. Burial will follow in Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Smith, Eric Shaddix, Rusty Patterson, Red Piper, Kenny Johnson, and Pebo Windom.
Left to cherish his memory, loving wife of 19 years, Vickie Moore of Opp; son, Braxton Moore (Jodie) of Red Level; daughters, Somer (Evens) McVay of Dozier, and Misty (Adam) Childs of Dothan; brother, Steve (Donna) Moore of Andalusia; sister, Diane (Milton) Wyatt of Elba; 10 grandchildren, Cassie, Karen, Kaliegh, Keaton, Braiden, Leland, Lyla, Bo, Lee and Adrian; and a great-grandchild, Ryder; parents-in-law, Rev. Elbert Smith (Linda) of Samson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Braxton Moore and Mattie Patterson Moore.
Friends and family described him as “a good ole’ country boy’; Tom was a fisherman and hunter and most happy when ridin’ the dirt roads. A huge Nascar racing fan and he loved the Kinston Races; he will be greatly missed.
