Jill Marcet Allen, beloved sister and Aunt, left this world unexpectedly Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp, Alabama, after battling the Covid-19 virus. Jill was 58 years old. She was born August 4, 1962 in Florala, Alabama, daughter of the late Amy Recil Kelley-Allen and Harold Leo Allen; and step-daughter of Shadrach Gohagen. Jill graduated from Florala High School, class of 1980. She attended Jefferson Davis School of Nursing in Brewton, Alabama and earned her BSN from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. Jill dedicated 34 years of her life as a Registered Nurse, caring for the sick and afflicted. Her career consisted of almost every aspect of nursing: emergency care, critical care, supervisory and Nursing Instructor in the RN program at LBW in Opp, Alabama. Jill’s legacy will live on through the years by the many lives that she touched and knowledge she shared. She was an excellent nurse, role model and friend. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her dear brother, Mike Allen and sister in-law, Wanda; step-sister, Debbie Birge and Mike; step-brother, Steve Gohagen and Rhonda; loving niece and nephew, Amber Allen-Dabbs and Berry and Brandon Allen and Alex; step-nieces, Julie and Matti; step-nephews, Mathew and Mark and their families; and adoring Great nieces and nephews Emily, Keagan and Greyson, Charlie and Chloe. The loves of her life. A memorial graveside service for family and closest friends, masks required, will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery in Florala, Alabama. Eulogies will be given by lifelong friend, Wesley Laird and cousin, Dawn Carroll and a musical tribute by Wesley Laird.
