William Walter Griffin

William Walter Griffin, age 55, was called home by his Lord and Savior in the early morning of Friday, September 11, 2020.

William was born on November 19, 1964 in Geneva, Alabama.  He is preceded by his  father,  William Avertt Griffin  and  his granddaughter, Skylar Destini Griffin. William graduated  from Geneva High School in 1982. After graduating he  proudly entered and severed his country in the United States Army, where he served on the  honor guard  unit  and  was selected to be in the congressional escort.  He  received his Bachelor’s Degree  in  Criminal  Justice and used that knowledge to become a police officer with the Omaha Police Department in Omaha, Nebraska before  an  accident that would leave him unable to continue that line of work which he loved. William  was such a sweet, gentle and fun guy in his day who truly loved his family and loved  Alabama football.

William is survived by, children, Kennedy Lane Griffin and Baylor Lee Korth and his wife Jessie Korth. He grandchildren, Camden William Kammerer,   Hayden J. Kammerer, twins Amiyah Elizabeth Buddy and Aliyah Annette Buddy; his mother, Charlotte Delores Griffin; two sisters, Cynthia S. Steverson and husband Brian,  Stephanie D. Donovan and husband Keith; brother, Bryan Allen Griffin; several nieces and nephews.

A family memorial will held at a later date.

Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 W. McIntosh Rd, Griffin is in charge of arrangements.
