Geneva schools go virtual

Geneva City Schools has experienced a spike in positive cases of COVID-19 or in quarantine due to close contact. This has had a significant impact on our faculties. The consequence of this spike is that we are unable to properly staff our middle and high schools. We are, therefore, moving to virtual instruction at Geneva Middle and Geneva High School starting Thursday, January 21, and lasting until Tuesday, January 27. Both schools will be open tomorrow, Wednesday, January 20. Paper packets will be made available tomorrow for students that require them.

Mulkey Elementary school will remain open, and buses will run as normal for the elementary students. Additionally, we will NOT have a virtual day next Friday, January 29. Again, Geneva Middle and High school will transition to at-home learning starting this Thursday and returning to face to face instruction next Wednesday, January 27th.

A few additional items, First, G-Tech students are expected to report to GTech if transportation is possible, Second, sack lunches will be available on each of our virtual days. And finally, lunches can be picked up at the GHS/GMS lunchroom as needed. Please call your child’s school for more specifics on any of the above information.
