Jim Jones Vaughan
Jim Jones Vaughan of Chancellor, AL passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021. He was 73 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Providence United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Mr. Vaughan was born in Geneva County, Alabama on September 5, 1947 to the late Lawrence L. and Evelyn G. Jones Vaughan. Mr. Vaughan was a loving father and grandfather. He retired from civil service as a helicopter technician after many years of dedicated service. He also retired from the National Guard with the rank of Master Sergeant. Mr. Vaughan served as a deacon at Providence UMC. He also served as a 32nd degree Mason.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry G. Vaughan.
He is survived by one son, Kevin Vaughan of Saucier, MS; three grandchildren, Cheyenne Anderson (James), Gage Vaughan, and Jordan Vaughan; one great-granddaughter, Juliet Anderson; two brothers, Joe Vaughan (Diane) of Coffee Springs, AL, and Jack Vaughn of Chancellor, AL; three sisters, June Jordan (Bobby) of Milton, FL, Joy Hendrix of Evans, GA, and Jill White of Chancellor, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Larry Vaughan, Harry Vaughan, Tracy Vaughn, Chris Vaughn, Jeff Vaughan, and George Helms.
