Franklin Levoy Kirkland of DeFuniak Springs, FL, formerly of Geneva, AL, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021. He was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Andy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in Leddon Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Kirkland was born in Holmes County, FL on October 30, 1934 to the late Franklin Posey and Callie Viola Prescott Kirkland. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed working hard around his family farm, and in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and a good fishing trip. Prior to retirement , he had worked at Benson Wholesale and Michelin Tire Co. Mr. Kirkland was of the Jehovah’s Witness faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Betty Kirkland, mother of his children and Jearlin Kirkland; three grandchildren, Callie Bryan Siggers (Gary), Jon Stone and Codie McCormick; and six siblings.
He is survived by three daughters, Faye Bryan (Jimmie) and Rhonda Stone, all of Geneva, AL, Janet McCormick of Niceville, FL; son, Randy Kirkland (Lori) of Geneva, AL; one grandson, Calvin Bryan; three granddaughters, Krystal Kirkland Pierson (Josh), Randi Leigh Kirkland and Hope McCormick; four great-grandchildren, Caleb Bryan, Lailah Bryan, Jonathan Burgess and Maddie Pierson; four step-children, Jason, Dorinda, Dolly and Randy; and two sisters, Lillie V. Wilkerson of Hartford, AL and Marie Barlar of Pensacola, FL and several special nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
