Local law enforcement responded to a vehicle accident on highway 52 East bound between the two double bridges, headed toward Hartford. Geneva Fire and Rescue, Geneva Police Department, ALEA, and Geneva Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene of the accident.
The victim reportedly had not been heard from since Monday night. It was also reported that his cell phone had quit pinging around 4:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, after the battery died. According to law enforcement, his family and employer from Fort Rucker had been searching but was unable to locate the individual. After he failed to show up for work Tuesday morning, his employer notified law enforcement. Geneva City Police were able to locate the vehicle Tuesday afternoon.
Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating the scene. No names have been released at this time. The victim was alive and sent by ambulance to Wiregrass Medical Center, waiting to be life flighted.
