Linda Meeks

Our beloved mother, Linda Meeks, crossed into Heaven on Sept. 28, 2022, after courageously standing up to Alzheimer’s Disease for three years.

Linda loved the Lord, the peace of nature, and her family. Her favorite thing to do was sit on her swing on the back porch, although her Dixie Chopper was a close second. She worked for the US Army, US Air Force, and US Navy across three bases and the District of Columbia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Earl Meeks, who she met while attending the University of Alabama, brother James Lloyd Alvis, mother Margie Sandford Alvis, and father Lloyd Alvis. Linda is survived by a sister, Elaine Alvis; a daughter and her husband Melissa and David Ging; a son and his wife Tony and Carol Meeks; and three grandchildren whom she absolutely adored: Brittany, Ethan, and Kaylyn.

The interment will be Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., at Danley’s Crossroad Cemetery, near the intersection of AL-141 and AL-166.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org. Our thanks go to the staff of St. Augustine Plantation, Brookdale Manor, and Regency Hospice for their loving care.

So sorry to hear about Linda, she meant so much to us when she got sick and. had to move away it broke my heart it was like losing my mom and best friend all over again.but know she is with her Heavenly Father that she love to talk and share about, her family was her heart and I know I owned a little piece of that big heart. She will be missed and my prayers are with the family.
