Alvie Lee “Pete” Anderson

Alvie Lee “Pete” Anderson age 79, a resident of Elba, Alabama died as a result of a boating accident on December 30, 2022 on the Yellow river in Holt, Florida. His body was recovered January 4, 2023 after a deligent search by rescue personnel.

His family invites everyone to a Celebration of Life service, Friday, January 13, 2023. Memorial services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 13, 2023 beginning at 3:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Eddins officiating. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Friday, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request those wishing to make memorials do so to a charity of your choice.

     Pete was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing his entire life. He marveled at  God’s creation whether it was a winding river bank, a hardwood bottom, or the evening sunset. He also enjoyed horses, and the fellowship of friends on trail rides. He retired as a mechanic, after many years of services in both Elba and Opp.

     He is survived by his Wife – Betty Sue Anderson, Elba, AL, Daughter – Leslie (Michael) Enman, Enterprise, AL, Son – Randy Lee Anderson, Opp, AL, Granddaughter – Tashawna (Troy) Hollinghead, Opp, AL, Granddaughter – Katlyn Rogers, Elba, AL, Great Granddaughter – Annslee Hollinghead, Opp, AL, Great Grandson – Tucker Hollinghead, Opp, AL, along with Sister – Aletha Brewer of Pensacola, Florida.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Bama Lucille Piland Anderson, and Alvie Anderson, Sr.
