Brent Eugene Underwood

Brent Eugene Underwood of Coffee Springs passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Flowers Hospital.  A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 13, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Coffee Springs. 

Mr. Underwood was born in Sweetwater, Tn. May 13, 1954.  Mr. Underwood served in the military from 1972-1987, first in the Air Force, then the ARMY Reserve.  After many years in the automotive service industry Mr. Underwood began his entrepreneurial career opening Quality Metal Fabrications where he built Self-Contained Cleaning Systems for the military.  He ran this successful business for many years and enjoyed giving back to the Enterprise community through metal fabrication projects including ironwork at the Enterprise City Cemetery and helping with securing the Boll Weevil statue to the monument so it could never be stolen again.  An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Underwood enjoyed hunting, fishing, competition shooting, gunsmithing, and cooking.  

Mr. Underwood is preceded in death by his wife Linda and parents, Ivan “Gene” and Kate Underwood. 

Survivors include his son David (Andrea) Underwood of Montgomery, daughter, Stephanie (Adam) Brumberg of Enterprise; the true joys of his life, granddaughters Payton and Harper Underwood; brother, Dwight (Jennifer) Underwood (Opp), sisters, Jo “Jody” Lawson (Titusville, FL) and Jill Underwood (Jacksonville, FL).

In lieu of flowers, you can honor Brent by donating to the NRA or Republican Party, both of which he was a lifetime member.
