Lady Bobcats close out regular season with a win against New Brockton

In their final match of the season, a shorthanded Opp team traveled to New Brockton for a match with the Lady Gamecocks. This was also an area match with both teams already set for the area tournament. Opp led by as many as seven in set one going ahead 18-11. A final charge by New Brockton cut the lead down to two until Opp scored one final point to take set one 25-22.
Set two was a tight one as New Brockton came close to tying the match. Opp trailed 24-23, but scored the next three points to take the second set 26-24. Set three was one of the wildest ones all season for Opp. The Lady Bobcats led 24-19 and needed to just one point for the sweep. New Brockton rallied for five straight points to tie the set at 24-24. Neither team could scored two points in a row as they game was tied at 30-30.
New Brockton managed to force a fourth set with a 32-30 win. Set four belonged to Opp who recovered from the previous set and scored six straight points to turn a tight contest into a 20-14 lead. Both teams exchanged the next six points for a 23-17 score until Opp posted the next two points to win the set 25-17 and the match 3-1 to close out the regular season with a win.
