OMS pounces Pike Liberal Arts, 32-0

The OMS Bobcats traveled to Troy to take on Pike Liberal Arts last Tuesday evening and it didn’t take long for Opp to get on the board. On their first possession the Bobcats scored on an eight yard touchdown run by Peyton Campbell. The two point attempt was good by Parker Burgess and Opp led 8-0. Drew McCord took over at QB for one play and made it count as he ran in for a ten-yard touchdown with just seconds remaining in the first quarter. Anthony Morrow ran in the two point try and Opp led 16-0 after one quarter.

After two touchdowns called back due to penalties, the Bobcats were able to punch one in just before the half. Aiden Byrd scored on a six yard run and also completed the two point conversion for a 24-0 Opp lead at halftime.

Opp’s final score of the game came on a Peyton Campbell run of 73 yards with three minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Burgess ran in the two point conversion and the Bobcats went on to win the game 32-0 to improve to 4-1.

Peyton Campbell had a career night rushing with 10 carries for 196 yards and two touchdowns. Aiden Byrd had six carries for 50 yards and a score. Parker Burgess had one completion in the game a 30 yard pass to Drew McCord for 30 yards. McCord scored a touchdown on the ground as well. On defense Anthony Morrow had seven tackles and two sacks. Payton Campbell had 5 tackles and a sack while Brody Brantley tallied four tackles.
