SSGT Hubert Yell Jr.
Hubert was born in Hazel Green, AL on 26 Nov. 1935 to Hubert Yell Sr., and Virgie Ann Hopkins Yell. He was proceeded in death by both parents, 4 sisters and 1 brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jacqueline Meredith Yell, 1 son, Hubert Yell III, (Deanne) and 2 daughters, Huberta Ann Yell D’Olive (Matt), and Elizabeth Darlene Yell Kowitz (Monty). 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, Poppa loved them all dearly.
He graduated from Hazel Green High School as a member of the Beta Club while attending classes at Enterprise St. Jr. College. He also had a degree from United Electronics Laboratories in Louisville KY.   Throughout his life he accomplished many scholastic achievements. He served the US Army in Germany and then was stationed at Fort Rucker, where he met the love of his life. He worked for the Chrysler Corp (NASA) in Huntsville, AL with their missile division. He was in charge of the capsules that put men into space and also finally putting the first man on the moon. He had his own heavy equipment company and farmed, he also put in 19 years as SSGT in the AL National Guard where he served in several different roles. He was a founder, Deacon, and Sunday School director for Living Water Church in Samson, AL for 20 years.
After retirement he spent his life doing wood crafts he loved and that can be seen all over Geneva at Christmas time.
