An investigation into a stabbing is underway in Geneva County.
Sheriff Tony Helms said Geneva County Deputies and emergency response units rushed to Holmes Creek Road in Geneva County Sunday evening after a driver had found a man staggering on the road suffering from multiple stab wounds to his front and back.
Helms said the investigation is still in its early stages, but investigators believe the victim was allegedly in Geneva County to meet or be with a woman at an unknown location. It is thought that the crime did not occur on Holmes Creek Road.
The sheriff did not identify the victim but did say he was a Houston County resident. The victim was transported to a hospital in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
The sheriff’s office is expected to release additional information soon.
